The weekend of the 1st and 2nd November.  The Bicentennial National Trail is having a 20th Birthday celebration at Tharwa.
Find out how you can have an adventure on the trail, walking, horse trekking or cycling.

Saturday is the AGM of the BNT at Caloola Farm at 2pm.  On the Sunday there will be a TREKFEST in conjunction with the Tharwa Country Fair and the 100th Anniversary of the Tharwa Church.

It will be day of fun at the fair with 8 trekkers and their pack horses parading in with 4 cyclists and their packs into the fair at 12.15.  These trekkers have been on the trail from the North coming in from Collector and the South coming in as far as Khancoban.  The trekkers will only be too pleased to show you how to pack a pack saddle and bike panniers.  They will be on display down at the riverside behind the school after the official welcoming.  From the Friday they will be arriving at the BNT Cuppacombalong Camp Site on the Smith Road.

The Bicentennial Trail display will be in the fair and manning the stall are experienced trekkers who can answer any questions.  These people have a wealth of bush experience and only too pleased to chat.  There are maps, photos, BNT merchandise, pack saddles display, and information on how to join and buy any of the 12 guide books for your own adventure.

In the hall next to the shop there is a photo display by one member who has done the trail from Healsville to Cooktown with a horse and mule.  The church is also putting on a historical photographic display and old newspapers.

The author of Colour of Courage Sharon Roberts will be there and she  has put together a new promotional CD for the anniversary and it will be shown at the AGM and at the Fair as well.
